Local COVID-19 Related Closures and Updates

TOWN HALL:  CLOSED to the public. Please be advised that all playgrounds are closed until further notice.  Please respect this closure for the safety of all our residents. We encourage all residents to get fresh air but not in groups outside your immediate household. 

The Hampton Trail System remains open. Please only use with members of your own household and keep a minimum of six feet from other users. If social gatherings continue, the Town of Hampton will re-evaluate the status of the trails.

Town of Hampton Planning & Development Department: Telephone and Email are  preferred means of communication. If a meeting is required we ask residents to make an appointment prior to coming to the Town Office. General inquires email:  planning@townofhampton.ca. For development Inquiries: carolyn@townofhampton.ca of 832-6082; and for Building Inquiries and Inspections:  angela@townofhampton.ca or 832-6050. There will be no interior inspections of occupied buildings until further notice. Other inspections will be on a case by case basis. The absence of interior inspections at this time does not relieve the permit holder from conforming to any applicable by-law or the National Building Code as per the issued permit. Please contact the Building Inspector for a path forward should the permitted work require an interior inspection within this period of reduced service.

Town of Hampton Committee of Council Meetings: Until further notice, all Committee of Council meetings will be postponed or switched to teleconference/video conference format.  

Town of Hampton Large Item Pick-up: Pick-up for March 30th has been cancelled. All those currently on the list with be automatically moved to the next scheduled pickup on April 27th. If you have any questions please call the Town Hall at 832-6065.

Hampton Arena: Closed for the remainder of the current ice season.

Lighthouse River Centre: Closed until further notice.

Hampton Fire-Rescue The Fire Hall will be closed to the public until further notice. All non-emergency operations have been suspended. Because of these temporary restrictions, there will be NO new burning permits issued within the Town of Hampton until further notice. In case of an emergency please call 911.

Greater Hampton 50/50 Raffle: Weekly draws are suspended. They will provide notice prior to re-starting the draws. All tickets purchased for the current and future draws will remain valid for those future draws after the suspension is lifted. For example, if you purchased tickets for the next 5 draws, these tickets will be for the first 5 draws after the suspension is lifted. Further details will be provided, in accordance with our Province Raffle License requirements when the raffle resumes.

Hampton Community Library: Closed until further notice.

Hampton Food Basket: After consulting with Food Banks Canada and other local Food Baskets The Hampton Food Basket is suspending the collection of food donations. This is due to COVID-19’s ability to live on products for days, having to quarantine the items and the risk to our limited number of volunteers. They can still accept monetary donations through Canada Helps, click here to access the link on their Facebook Page. Monetary donations also allow us more flexibility to purchase what is required at often reduced rates from what you can get at the store. It also eliminates the risk to you. They remain committed to serving all of our clients in the best way that we can in this unprecedented time. Stay safe everyone and thank you for your continued support. If you prefer not to donate online please contact DeeDee at 333-1651 for an alternate arrangement.

Dr. Allison Chorley Family Dental Care - Closed until March 31st, at which time they will reassess.  If you had an appointment during this time it has been cancelled and you will be contacted when they are back to normal operations to reschedule. If you feel you have a true dental emergency involving trauma, prolonged bleeding, infection and swelling or pain that cannot be controlled by over the counter medication please contact our office at 832-2468 and follow the instructions. Messages will be checked periodically throughout the day.  Dr. Chorley or Dr. Campbell will return your call.

Hampton Family Medicine (Dr. Hall and Dr. Bone) will remain open, however, appointments not requiring an in person assessment will be done over the phone. All patients should call ahead for an appointment. We ask that no one  walk in without calling ahead. Any patients who believe they may have a COVID-19 infection should either call the office for instructions or call 811, they should not come to the office. Anyone with severe symptoms should either call 911 or go to the Emergency Department after calling ahead to notify staff.

Girl Guides:
 All Girl Guide events are suspended until April 14th with the possibility of extension.

Kings County Museum: The Kings County Museum is closed, but emails will be checked daily.

Lower Norton Community Hall: Closed to all activities including Tuesday Night Cribbage. 

Rotary Club of Hampton: Suspended operations until at least May 12th.

Step in Time Dance: Closed until March 23rd and will be re-evaluated at that time.

Village Hair Design: Closed Until April 1st. Will reassess opening at that time.

Hair in the Big Blue House: Closed until further notice.

Hampton Seniors Resource Centre: Closed until March 30th. The Board will re-evaluate before March 29th. Information is available on their website at hamptonseniors.ca and their office will be open for phone calls only Monday - Friday from 9 am - 12 p.m. at 832-3763.

Dickinson & Baird Veterinary Hospital  - As an essential service, they are currently open and working regular hours at this point in time. They will update if modifications are made. www.dickinsonandbaird.com

Maranatha Seventh-day Adventist Church In person services cancelled until after April 5th. They will reassess situation then. Updates and online events are posted on their website at: www.hamptonsda.ca.

Dr. V. A. Snow Centre: CLOSED TO VISITORS. If you wish to visit your loved one from outside their bedroom window, and talk with them on the phone, please contact Gloria Baird, Therapeutic Recreationist, and let her know your time frame, so she can set it up. For the nursing home: Family members designated as “next-of-kin” may call 506-832-6210 to check on their loved one. As Dr. V A Snow Centre respects the Privacy Act & Legislation, we are unable to provide information to individuals other than the designated next-of-kin.

The Dr. V. A. Snow centre is looking for donations of masks and gloves. They have supplies at the moment but their suppliers can not provided additional stock at this time. They want to ensure their staff and residents are safe throughout this order. Donations can be left at the front door or call Tamara Mahar at 832-6210 ext. 6103 to make arrangements.
