B.O.A.T.

By law, if you operate a motorized pleasure craft less than 4 metres in length, you must carry a Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC).
If you operate any size pleasure craft you must carry a PCOC. The Life Saving Society's B.O.A.T. Program offers boaters an opportunity to learn about many aspects of safe boating, including:

  • Navigation regulations and so-called 'rules of the road'
  • How to respond to emergencies
  • Knowledge about operating pleasure craft (i.e. safety equipment, loading limits, buoys, beacons, weather, fueling procedures)

For information on cost and dates of the next course being offered, call the Leisure Services Office at 832-6102.
