Funding Announcement

Community Playground Receives Federal Funding

August 10, 2009 -- Hampton, New Brunswick -- MP Rob Moore was pleased to participate in an announcement of funding for the community playground in Hampton's town square. Pictured here are MP Rob Moore (left) and Mayor Ken Chorley.

"Our government is committed to supporting communities," said MP Moore. "In addition to creating jobs, this project will help build a stronger, more vibrant community that will help to attract more people and businesses and retain those already here."

The project will see new Canadian Standards Association approved play systems installed on a rubberized surface for added safety. This up-to-date equipment and the added enhancements will improve playground structures that were removed from the town square earlier this year.

The federal government has designated $48,200 to the project under the Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RInC) Program, a key economic stimulus initiative under Canada's Economic Action Plan.

"This investment will help put Canadians to work, while also encouraging greater participation in physical activity and use of recreational facilities," said MP Moore.
