Roadside Memorial Policy
In developing regulations for roadside memorials, the Town of Hampton acknowledges that although there is a legitimate desire from the public to allow roadside memorials within the street right-of-way, limitations are necessary for the memorials to ensure the safety of the travelling public as well as to respect the views of adjacent property owners and the general public. Regulation of roadside memorials is intended to deal with memorials that constitute a hazard to pedestrians and/or motorists and memorials that are an issue for adjacent property owners or the general public.
