EnviroFair & Locavore Banquet

It's easy being green...Act Local!

Plans are underway for the 2010 EnviroFair, which is slated to be held Saturday September 25th at Hampton High School, 34 Elizabeth Ave. The Locavore Banquet is being held on Fri Sept 24th at the River Centre, 1075 Main St. Tickets are sold in advance for the banquet. Email the River Centre Manager, or call 832-6096 to buy your ticket.
Last year's Locavore Banquet WAS SOLD OUT!! This four-course banquet highlights the 'Locavore' food movement which brings attention to where we get our foods, and stresses how we should be trying to stay as local as we possibly can. *Salad - Red & Green leafed salad with an abundance of local veggies
*Entrée - Chicken Breast, Potato, and local Vegetables from our Hampton Community Garden!
*Desert - Pumpkin Maple Crème Brulé
*Beverages - Wines from the Magnetic Hill Winery; Beer from Moosehead Breweries

Composting and recycling facilities are available the day of the EnviroFair at HHS. We encourage you to walk, run or bike to the event! And why not bring your own coffee mug?
The Fundy Solid Waste Commission is on site with its
Household Hazardous Waste and Computer Recycling Round Up.
Computer Recycling: $5/computer system;
Computer components include: monitor, CPU, mouse, keyboard, speakers, or printer.
Household Hazardous Waste – no charge.
Acceptable items for the household hazardous waste: aerosol cans containing hazardous substances; batteries; compact flourescent lightbulbs; flourescent lightbulbs; paints, stains, varnishes, and thinners; used motor oil and filters; gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel and ethanol; anti-freeze or transmission fluid; propane tanks or cylinders; driveway sealant; pesticides, herbicides, insecticides.
